From Catalina, With Love ❤
Santa Catalina, CA 2021
September 8, 2021
Southwest of Los Angeles, off the California coast, lies the breathtaking island of Santa Catalina. Planning a day trip here was one of my best ideas yet. I fell in love. The brightly colored homes scattered amongst the mountains were reminiscent of Puerto Rico, while the boat-filled harbor and crystal blue seas are what I imagine the Italian coast might look like. It truly was a place off a postcard. To get to this slice of heaven we used the Ferry, leaving from the Long Beach port; which was about $80 roundtrip. We booked the second earliest time slot in order to optimize our time on the island.
Activities included parasailing the skies to obtain the best views of the island, snorkeling the clear blue water to visit marine life, and bike riding the streets leisurely to take in the gorgeous sights while also relaxing. We sunbathed for a good while which really rejuvenated us. The food was *chef's kiss*, the people were friendly, and the scenery was jaw-dropping. We didn't accomplish everything that we wanted to do (like make it to the other side of the island LOL) but that's just an excuse to visit this new vacay favorite-- I'm definitely staying a night next time. Santa Catalina gives you views of another country right in the backyard of L.A. It was truly an amazing time and I can't wait to visit again.
Until next time.
