Making a house a home is all in the details. It's about finding that sweet spot that marries my style with that of my husband’s and existing as a space of peace and repose.
Curating your perfect home takes time, energy, and patience, lots of it. It's the smell of lingering candles and eye-catching furniture, the strategic placement of family photos and books ... everywhere. It's a well-loved couch and handpicked flowers. Or soft linen sheets and the sound of music seeping through the walls. It's the little things.
You're never really done when you begin the journey of adorning your abode. There will always be something you have to add or change, enhance or replace, and that’s the beauty of it. Furnishing a home is a marathon, not a sprint. It’s something that should be done gradually with pieces you adore and that speak to you. It’s like styling the perfect outfit. You don’t buy all the pieces at once, instead you choose items over time and eventually it all comes together.
Don’t get discouraged or overwhelmed in the process. Explore local flea markets and thrift stores. Take inspiration from art, fashion, books, and self. Let your creativity flow and create your perfect space.
